Feature Teacher!
Our Featured Teacher stars the newest member of Sharpsburg's instructional team, Art Educator Kayla Motheral!
Miss Motheral is originally from Sterling, VA where she attended Potomac Falls H.S.. She was recruited to play volleyball at Shepherd University, where she studied Art Education and graduated in December of 2015. Miss Motheral fell in love with the "Ah-hah!" moments that working with elementary age artists brings and she loves to hear her students confidently make the claim, "I did it!" when successful in her classroom.
When not teaching and planning for student success, Miss Motheral loves to paint and work on crafts while hanging out with her cat, Sniffles. MIss Motheral is a fan of chocolate, and loves a good chocolate cake (with chocolate icing, of course!) She still plays volleyball any chance she gets, too!
Miss Motheral hopes to share her expert knowledge of the arts and to build a program in which students feel successful and tie their visual arts learning into many different content areas. She wants to ensure that she makes a difference in our school community and children's lives on a daily basis.

Welcome to Sharpsburg!
At Sharpsburg Elementary School, we are proud of the traditions and history of our school and community. We are, however, breaking ground on a daily basis with digital learning, project-based/problem-based instruction and targeted teaching and learning that meets our learners where they can maximize their personal progress.
